LED’s provide a mechanism for Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT) or
“Photo Bio-stimulation” – also called ‘Phototherapy’. The effects of Phototherapy
and LLLT are photochemical. When the correct intensity and frequency are used,
the light energy photons, generated by the LED light sources, are absorbed by
select chromophores in the tissue. This process stimulates mitochondrial
activity and Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) production; promotes blood
circulation and tissue oxygenation, leading to pain relief and cell
proliferation, and facilitating the creation and extension of the anti-aging
enzymes. Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) of the correct wavelength , irradiance,
energy density dissociates Nitric Oxide allowing oxygen back into the cell, so
ATP is restored and oxidative stress reduced. Once normal mitochondrial
function is restored by LLLT then cell metabolism improves, and the cells
normal function is restored.

The wavelength of light is defined as "the distance between the two successive crests or troughs of the light wave". Therefore, the distance between one crest or trough of one wave and the next wave is known as the wavelength. Because LLLT works by delivering wavelengths of light into our skin where it is absorbed by our cells, its effectiveness is closely connected with the amount of light reaching the target tissue. Wavelengths are often referred to using their associated color and typically include purple/blue (400-495 nm), green (495-570 nm), yellow (570-590 nm), orange (590-620 nm), red (620-750 nm), and near-infrared (750-1200 nm) lights. All tissue targets have an optimum wavelength at which they absorb light. Different tissue targets trigger different biological processes.

Optical power density can be understood as the energy that light can transmit per unit area, in units of W/m² or mW/cm². Human cells respond to light with a biphasic effect, which means that neither too low nor too high energies can achieve the results we expect. A higher irradiance often means a shorter treatment time, but a higher irradiance isn’t always better. If the irradiance is too high, the photon energy will be transformed into excessive heat in the target tissue; the mask may become hot and can inhibit the treatment or even create undesired outcomes. GYH experts recommend choosing products whose irradiance is about 30mW/cm².

Energy density is measured in joules per square centimeter (J/cm²) and is the amount of energy delivered into the tissue. Dose (J/cm²) = Irradiance (mW/cm²) x Time (seconds).

Light therapy products use LEDs (light-emitting diodes) to emit light at specific wavelengths based on the effects those wavelengths have on the body. The best light frequencies for reversing signs of aging are red and infrared, falling between 600 and 880 nanometers. These types of light used in anti-aging therapy have multiple wavelengths that enable safe penetration below the skin's surface, interacting with skin cells. The light energizes skin cells' mitochondria, resulting in greater output from the mitochondria to other parts of the cell. Cells become stronger and reproduce faster after red light therapy, leading to improved skin texture and reduced wrinkles.

These two types of lights, when used in tandem, are a powerful combination. For anti-aging light therapy devices, the most effective solutions will nearly always be designed with a combination of red and infrared lights. Wrinkle reduction devices that contain solely red LEDs are not as effective at reducing signs of aging or improving the skin's overall texture and complexion. And when it comes to light therapy devices designed for pain relief, most are also designed with a combination of red and infrared lights.

Absolutely not! In fact, skin photoaging is mainly caused by certain bands of ultraviolet light, UV-B (290-320 nm) and UV-A (320-400 nm), which may damage the skin by promoting collagen breakdown, free radical formation, interfering with DNA breakdown, and suppressing the immune system. The GYH phototherapy mask filters out ultraviolet light and other harmful wavelengths, leaving only 630±5nm red light, 820±5nm near-infrared light, and 465±5nm blue light. These lights are not only harmless but also have many benefits, such as improving sleep quality.

The 415nm wavelength is closer to the ultraviolet range (300-400nm), making it more likely to cause pigmentation issues. Therefore, we chose to use the 465nm blue light wavelength. Clinical tests have shown that the 465nm wavelength is equally effective and safer to use.

Just as a flock of sheep can't compare to a lion, more bulbs don't mean a more powerful mask. The light power density (irradiance) of the lamp beads plays a more critical role. The high-quality lamp beads imported from Germany used by GYH can reach the irradiance value of 30mW/cm² with only 40 pieces to achieve the best effect. Most of the products on the market that are less than two hundred dollars have an irradiance value of less than 5mW/cm², although their number of lamp beads may exceed one hundred.

LED cold light uses photochemical action to rebuild collagen, diminish fine lines, improve skin elasticity, promote wound repair, and reduce inflammation. It will not generate high heat or burn the skin.

The product features a 1000 mAh lithium battery, which can provide up to 2 hours of use when fully charged. With an average skin care time of 10 minutes per session, it can be used for 10-12 sessions before needing to be recharged. When not in use, it can last up to 60 days on a single charge. Therefore, there should be no issue with frequent charging.

The 7 Colors Gold LED Mask is an older model in our product lineup and does not include near-infrared light functionality.
